A 24 ft motor cruiser motoring up to Totnes with 2 adults and a child on board struck an object and sheared their propeller, losing all steerage. The boat was carried by the tide and went aground on the western bank of the Dart approx 8.5 miles from the lifeboat station. The lifeboat dragged the vessel into deeper water and took them on a long tow to Baltic Wharf, Totnes.
