The Dart lifeboat was on exercise during the hours of darkness when they were contacted by HM Coastguard at Brixham to render assistance to the police. A report had been received by them about a possible disturbance aboard a vessel at Maypool. Dart Lifeboat diverted from their exercise and after picking up a police officer searched the area for any persons in difficulty in the water or on a vessel. On arrival all appeared in order and the lifeboat returned to Dartmouth.
