The inshore lifeboat was tasked by Falmouth Coastguard when a foreign visiting yachtsman had been reported missing in the harbour. The party had come ashore from their yacht on the visitors pontoon. After a meal they found their tender was dry on the mud. One of the crew decided to push it through the mud into the water whilst the others returned by the water taxi and found that he was not on board their yacht. The engine of the tender had failed but he managed to reach a pontoon on the Dartmouth side where he was found by the lifeboat crew. His wife was brought ashore by the lifeboat and the couple were then returned to their yacht.
