Location: Dartmouth Harbour

A member of the public reported hearing cries for help coming from the area of the lower ferry. The inshore lifeboat was launched to search the river whilst the mobile Coastguard team from Berry Head followed up leads on shore. The lifeboat crew searched from the Checkstone buoy to above the Darthaven marina using their searchlight and night vision equipment. It became clear that four youths had been causing a disturbance on shore at the time and it is believed that they were the unintentional cause of the call out. Helmsman Tony Chapman. Lifeboat crew Chris Rampling, Darren Hopley and Haydn Glanvill. Launch crew. Jim Brent, Dai Richards, Bob Thomas and Kevin Murphy.
