Report of people in the water. A false alarm.

Launch No: 12
Craft: Spirit of the Dart. D-702
Saturday, 2 August 2008
Location: Leonards Cove, 3 miles West of the Dart estuary. Start Bay.

The Coastguard requested that the ILB go to Leonard's Cove as witnesses reported seeing an upturned boat with people in the water. On arrival the ILB crew found nothing. They searched down tide and again found nothing. A small fishing boat in the area reported seeing nothing untoward. It is possible that the witnesses interpreted fishing activities as an emergency situation.
