Investigation of object nr Western Blackstone

Launch No: 55
Craft: Spirit of the Dart. D-702
Saturday, 16 January 2010
Location: Ladies Cove. Start Bay.

Having completed their search for possible occupants of the canoe that was the subject of Launch 54 the inshore lifeboat was diverted by the Coastguard to investigate a partially submerged object inshore of the Western Blackstone. The observers at the National Coastwatch station at Froward Point had reported it as possibly an upturned boat. On closer examination it turned out to be a large six foot log and the lifeboat returned to its station.
