This page of the web site is mainly about the activities of Schools, Organisations and young people who have been in contact with the Dart RNLI lifeboat team in some way.
John Fenton is the Education Volunter and is the person to contact if your school or organisation wishes to visit the Dart Lifeboat Station or to organise some other activity.
But the RNLI also has a special web site for young people. It can be reached on www.rnli.org.uk/shorething
There you can find Activities and Games from building a lifeboat to training as a lifeguard. You can test what you know about staying safe on a beach and about the flags the RNLI lifeguards use. There will be RNLI lifeguards at Blackpool Sands as well as Slapton and Torcross this summer. Further away they will also be at Bantham, Burgh Island and Challaborough.
Young people can join the junior branch of the RNLI called Storm Force. When you join you will recieve an excellent magazine with lots of information about the lifeboats and things to do as well as an invitation to come and see us at the lifeboat station when we have an Open Day. The Open Days already planned are Saturday 28 January for SOS day and Thursday, Friday and Saturday 30, 31 August and 1 September during Dartmouth Regatta.
Storm Force membership is ideal for children aged 5-11 years and, at just £7.50 a year, makes a fun and educational gift that lasts.
Members receive:
Club mascot Stormy Stan replies to each and every letter, drawing, photo or joke submitted and there are special gifts for those published in the magazine too.
