New water safety messages from the RNLI

The RNLI has new youth water safety messages and the Dart Education volunteer, John Fenton, will be attending a full day RNLI course at the Saltash Divisional base on the 10th April to learn all about it.
What are the new messages?

• Stop and think – spot the dangers or know the dangers.

• Stay together with a friend or family member.

• Float – if you are in trouble in the water, float until you feel calm and then think what to do next.

• Call 999 or 112 – if you see someone else in trouble in the water call 999/112 immediately.

Local Primary schools will be invited to have presentations at their schools in the second half of May using the new material.
